The red velvet waffled ice cream sandwich in the photograph above is one of the recipes in "Will It Waffle?" Between the layers of red velvet is vanilla ice cream with its edges dipped in mini chocolate chips. It's particularly appropriate with Valentine's Day on the horizon.
If you observe Valentine's Day — or, perhaps more importantly, if it's observed by your beloved (or even merely beliked) — that person may enjoy receiving either a copy of "Will It Waffle?" or a red velvet ice cream sandwich.
Or both.
But only one of them is available at your local bookstore or on Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Indiebound.
We have a winner! Congrats to Titania N., who is the winner of the waffle iron giveaway and is receiving a Chef's Choice Classic Waffle Pro 852. For those of you who did not win, I can only say that Titania and I have been in touch and you can console yourselves with the knowledge that it sounds like the waffle iron is going to a good home.
If you didn't win this time, there's always next time. And there will be a next time.
I will be waffling in Chicago on Saturday, March 7, at The Chopping Block. I did this back in September and it was great. You can click through for more details. The price of the class includes a signed copy of "Will It Waffle?"
One item of miscellany: Have you seen Fracture? They print photos directly on glass. It's hard to get the full effect without seeing it; click through to see what I'm talking about. I keep hearing their ads on podcasts, so I finally ordered one. (If you must know, I ordered a glass print of the "Will It Waffle?" book cover to hang on my wall. You should probably order prints of, say, your family and friends before you do that. Probably I should have too.)
In any case, if you use code RFR62468 when you order you will get $5 off and, in the interest of full disclosure, so will I. (I promise I won't use it to order more prints of the book cover.)
And, no, they didn't pay me to say any of this. I just thought it was cool.
